DVV International Sri Lanka is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Education Sri Lanka, marking a significant step in strengthening national collaboration on Adult Learning and Education.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Nalaka Kaluwewa together with representatives from the Vocational Training Authority Sri Lanka, Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission Sri Lanka, and the Department of Technical Education and Training Sri Lanka.
This partnership reinforces a coordinated approach across the general education and technical and vocational education sectors.
In parallel, DVV International has formalised and expanded cooperation with eight key government institutions, including those in agriculture, fisheries, and entrepreneurship development. Together, these partnerships form the foundation of an integrated, cross-sectoral model aimed at strengthening lifelong learning systems in Sri Lanka.
The initiative is implemented as part of Germany’s development cooperation, focusing on creating sustainable pathways for those not in employment, education or training.
Current activities are concentrated in rural districts such as Ampara District and Puttalam District, with interventions spanning policy (macro), institutional capacity (meso), and community-level delivery (micro).
DVV International extends its sincere appreciation to the Embassy of Germany Colombo for its continued cooperation and support.
